Well Established Bingo Sites
Of the companies we recommend, Ladbrokes is the oldest. They’ve been in business since 1886, starting as a commission agent for horse racing, expanding to betting shops in 1961, and starting their online division in 2000. William Hill started in 1925 as a bookmaker, in 1963 with UK betting shops, and started their online division 1998. A similar company is Coral which was founded in 1926 as a bookmaker and now owns Gala Bingo. The company behind Mecca Bingo is The Rank Group. They started in the motion picture business in 1937, opened their first bingo club in 1961 and their first gambling site in 1998. The fifth oldest bingo website we recommend is bingo.bet365.com. Their founder Peter Coates was born into poverty but as a young adult founded Provincial Racing betting shops in 1974. This was rebranded Bet365 when they went online in 2001. Today Bet365 owns 84.4% of the Barclays Premier League football franchise Stoke City FC.
Oddly enough, the UK bingo market is so well established that the largest publicly traded online gambling company in the world is a baby, despite their history dating to 1997. This company is of course bwin.party digital entertainment which owns Foxy Bingo. The group also owns sites such as PartyPoker, PartyBingo, PartyBets, PartyCasino, Bwin, Gamebookers and the list sincerely goes on and on. Another publicly traded online gambling conglomerate is 888 Holding Plc. You can learn about them in our review of 888Ladies, but it’s also worth noting they are behind many of the remaining bingo sites we recommend. They provide the bingo software and bingo network to sites such as Posh Bingo, Costa Bingo and one of the world’s largest bingo websites Wink Bingo.
The only company we missed mentioning on this page is Sun Bingo. This internet bingo room is based on UK tabloid The Sun which has been an omnipresent source of shock headlines in the UK since it launched 15 September 1964. This is owned by the News Group Newspapers division of News International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation. He purchased the newspaper version in 1981. They made their debut as a gambling site in January 2006.
As you can see, you’d be hard pressed to find more reputable and established bingo websites than those reviewed here at Bingo Online. We are a very passionate company that takes great pride in our bingo recommendations. To learn more about how we select bingo sites to list, refer to our about us page.
